Relaxing, poolside.

This is our last week of Summer before the girls go back to Preschool next week. They have been out of school since mid May and I think we are all excited that school will begin again soon. I’ll miss the relaxed schedule of doing whatever we want each day, but  I am looking forward to the routine that school brings to our weekdays. We invited some friends over for a pool play date. We had the pool entirely to ourselves. It was glorious and the best part was, it wasn’t too hot like it has been the majority of the summer. Hooray for cooler temps! Although, I think they are on the rise again…

**I decided to apply a vintage effect to these pictures for a change. What do you think?**

It really was the perfect day. Nothing beats a relaxing time at the pool with great friends!

Ring Pops!

We had some friends spend the night with us a few weeks ago. As a thank you, they sent a box of candy. It was such a fun surprise to receive such an unexpected treat in the mail. The package included Ring Pops for the girls. Well, as you can imagine, they nearly lost their minds. They were BEYOND excited. They each took one and headed outside to eat them in the playhouse.

I love their little conversations. They really do enjoy each other’s company.

Hey Lauren, you try mine and I’ll try yours!

Uh oh, Lauren’s is all gone and she is not too happy about it.

Olivia told Lauren she had it all over her face and offered to clean it off for her. For real! This is not exactly what I had in mind. Gross!

Thanks Jen for sending us the yummy box of treats. As you can tell, the girls enjoyed every bit of their Ring Pops!

iPhone Fun

Here are a few pictures taken on my iPhone over the last month. I love the ShakeIt Photo App, it takes Polaroid style pictures. Tres retro, tres fun!

This was my first attempt at baking a homemade pie. It was Peach and it was beyond delicious. Well worth the effort indeed.

One morning, after spin class, I came home absolutely starving and wanted something sweet. I grabbed the fresh blueberries from the fridge and whipped up these ENORMOUS blueberry muffins. They were delicious, I added sugar to the tops to make them even tastier. Yum. Blueberry muffins definitely rank way up there on the comfort food scale.

On several, well-timed occasions, the girls and I were lucky enough to have the pool to ourselves. We brought lunch, plenty of snacks and relaxed for a few hours before heading home for some much needed naps.

Meet my sweet, new nephew, Anthony. He is absolutely precious and the perfect baby. We love him dearly. Welcome to the family, little man!

Tennis

Olivia had her first tennis camp in early August and has just begun a second session that will take her into the Fall. She LOVES it. It is so cute to watch her learn. She is so focused. I guess it helps that her coach has a HUGE pile of candy on the court and gives them a dollar if they hit him with the ball.

She did great!

Olivia loved using the ball tube to pick up the balls. Perhaps I should bring her with me to my tennis practice…

Proudly putting the dollar she earned into her treat cone. All the kids had a little cone to store their candy and the money they earned throughout the lesson. So cute!

After a hot morning on the court, we went to Chick-fil-A for lunch and saw a ton of people we knew. I guess everyone had the same idea on a hot Summer day! (Olivia was terrified of the cow but managed to agree to one picture.)
