The Maine Attraction (Part II)

 DSC04610(1) A day at the beach…

The decision to make a family trip to Maine this summer was made last Christmas. Craig’s brother, Tod and his wife, Sarah live in Maine and wanted the whole family to come and stay for a week. Sarah suggested staying in beachfront cottages in charming Bayside. It was a brilliant suggestion and we were absolutely thrilled with our cottage. We were very sad the day we left and we hope to return again next year.

On Sunday, the weather was positively gorgeous and a welcome sight indeed after six straight weeks of rain. Everywhere you looked, everyone had a smile on their face and a spring in their step.

We packed a picnic lunch and headed to the state park to go swimming in the lake. (I forgot several different items for the picnic lunch… imagine that, I must have been distracted)

The water was icy cold. The longer you stayed in, the colder it felt. It was refreshing, even though my feet fell off and my legs went numb.

As you can tell, Lauren and Vincent didn’t seem to mind…
