A week and a half ago we had a massive playground installed in the backyard. We purchased it from King of Swings, which is a local manufacturer which makes their playsets right on site. They delivered and installed it in under three hours. Not a day has gone by since that the girls haven’t played on it. They have spent hours outside. It’s been heavenly. They completely wear themselves and Fergus out when they play out there. So awesome. An added bonus is that the house, except for all the grass that gets tracked in, stays much tidier when they spend the majority of their time playing outside rather than in.
It was such a blessing to have it delivered AND installed. I can’t imagine how long it would have taken us to put it together. It is installed in ground in cement which makes it extremely stable.
From start to finish. Lauren inspects the finished product.
We love it! It’s fun for Mommy and Daddy too! Swings, a horse, tire swing, fireman’s pole, rope ladder, climbing wall, trapeze, slide, ladder and clubhouse. So much fun. We can and should put sand in the box under the tire swing however I am afraid it might turn into a littler box and that concept really grosses me out. Between this and the pool this summer, the girls are going to be very busy and very tired!
The girls really love their new playground, especially the clubhouse.
Even Fergus was determined to climb the ladder. He actually made it halfway up before I caught him. Can you imagine him sliding down the slide?!
Olivia and her bestie, Kate.
Follow the slider leader!
Lauren testing out the new wave slide.
Lots to do, lots of fun!
Snack time!
Hanging out in the clubhouse.
Sweet Cousin Vincent had the best time hanging out with the girls!
Lauren pushed Aunt Peggy on the swing.
YIKES! This is what happens when Daddy pushes you on the swing… Cringe!!! Don’t worry, miraculously, she didn’t fall off and land on her head. She actually didn’t fall off at all and loved every minute of it.
Fergus is waiting for his turn on the swing.
Lauren snuggled with Daddy on the swing while Livie worked hard to push the two of them.
Craig tested out the horse. I think he just found a greener way to travel to work…
Giddy-up!
* On a sad note, our cat, “Big Kitty” got spooked the day they installed the playset and we haven’t seen him since. He arrived at our house out of the blue last summer and has stayed here since. Perhaps he has finally returned to his original home. We miss him very much and hope he is safe. Please say a little prayer for him. *

What a GREAT way to start Spring!!! We have an awesome one out back as well, but unfortunatly my girls have not taken to it like yours did. I think mine are still a bit young. Maybe this Summer they will go more... I hope anyways! :)
Love that picture of the girls under their name sign - too cute!
Awesome! 2 suggestions for the sandbox, I've seen where they have a net that you put over the top, and then they snap on, with actual snaps, not sure if that just came with the one my friend had, or if you could make something similar. I thought the net was a really good idea b/c the water drains, and no kitties can get in, and hopefully also minimizes the bugs. Another idea, I saw someone put a picnic area under there, a bench with a table. Really cute and her kids love eating out there for lunch. I'll have to draw you a picture at MOPS.
This is so cool. Look! You're the instant hit of the neighborhood. Even the adults want to hang out at your place now. Super fun!
Jay and Jen just put one of these together and the boys got to play on it for the first time Easter AM :) 'tis the season for the swing sets :) nice! :)
Another thought for the sandbox - we just cut a piece of tarp to fit just inside the walls of the sandbox and stapled it to two pieces of 2 x 4 (placed on opposing sides of the tarp). The girls could easily lift it themselves, and it kept all kinds of critters out! I highly recommend the sandbox as my girls spent more time in there than anywhere else! Enjoy!
